The Bund

Yesterday was the perfect day to sight see and go to The Bund (Waitan) considered to be the face of Shanghai and the confirmation that Shanghai is China’s most international city. It’s the place where people from all over the world come to see the impressive skyline that borders the Huangpu River.  Many of the buildings along The Bund’s extensive promenade with their Art Deco and Neoclassical facades appear much as they did during Shanghai’s times back in the 1920s and ’30s, displaying by all means a very distinct European architectural style . You can also find here the Old City and numerous banks, luxurious hotels, embassies and what not, to prove furthermore Shanghai’s key financial role in the world.

It’s a must to come back at night to see the spectacle of the neon lights lit.
