Experience Asia locally: Pearl River Mart via Instagram

Ever since my trip to China, I have been obsessed with the Asian culture: the food, the customs, the rich silks, the good luck charms, you name it! I’ve been watching one movie after another and reading novels about their history. Whenever I get nostalgic about China, I take a trip down memory lane, a subway ride away to Chinatown. I visit Joe’s Shanghai for the best crab pork meat soup dumplings in town, and walk the streets to reminisce the ventures I had in Shanghai. However, when it comes to decor, nothing beats Pearl River Mart.

Pearl River Mart in Soho is my favorite Chinese decor store, which offers two floors of infinite porcelain cups, bowls, chopsticks, silk, good-luck charms, Buddhas etc. I absolutely love it, and it has become a ritual stopping there if in the neighborhood. Sometimes I buy green tea and cinnamon sticks, other times ceramic bowls and good luck charms. I could stay in there for an hour at a time, taking in the soothing music and the arousing smell of incense. Here are some of my favorite items:
