Bohemian chic at the beach: A flapper girl in the making

On a splendid day of October, about a month ago, photographer Gavin Jaymes suggested we do a shoot at the beach, to which I gladly accepted; I love to be by the water, regardless of the season. It gives me peace, and fills me with energy and inspiration. It was our second time working together, after the incredible shoot in Brooklyn and Coney Island. That particular day, I felt somewhat bohemian and so, my outfit turned out to be bohemian chic, reminiscing the flapper girl of a century ago. The sun was setting, and we had the entire beach to ourselves. The parking lot, however, and the vintage signs, proved to be of greater interest. It is unbelievable to now know that only a few days after, hurricane Sandy would ravage the area; I cannot and will not let myself imagine how it might look today. I prefer to cherish that magnificent day of October.

I wore a silk Winter Kate silk dress by Nicole Richie, as light as a feather, a faux fur Via Spiga jacket, Steve Madden Luxe suede leather ankle boots, a Michael Kors red leather bag and H&M knitted cropped gloves and head band.
