#AirFranceExpo: France is in the air

This week was all about Air France, France and being French. I’m not big on aviation news, but when it comes to great service up in the air, with a touch of vintage, I’ll be there!

Air France Expo Press

And so I put on my finest French outfit to honor the invite I had received for the Air France Expo press day on June 25th, for its first day exhibiting at Center 248 in Chelsea.

First class? Check! French wine? Check! Your very own French chef? Check. As expected from anything French, class and sophistication was in abundance.

I got a real kick out of the Air France Expo, built as an interactive experience as you walk from room to room, not unlike a labyrinth, unveiling the airline’s new features. While doing so, I fervently checked-in every lounge on the cleverly-built mobile app (have I won those business class tickets, yet?!)

Air France Premium Economy

Displaying the improved seats and amenities that debuted on a June 24th flight from Paris to NYC, the exhibit features the upgraded Economy, Business Class and First Class, while introducing the brand-new Premium Economy class.

I loved the ode to the glory days of travel, where guests would dress up for a flight (complete with hired paparazzi  to capture the event), and receive their very own Air France courtesy bag. A well-dressed flight attended would cater to their every need, while exclusive art and travel posters would be on display.

Some of my favorite improvements and amenities were the ready-access to a chef, the touch screen smartphone like remotes on Business Class (oh, and those full-flat seats) and the overall interactivity of the experience. The exclusive dinnerware and toiletry kits were also a treat to look at up close.

Air France Expo Business Class

Today is the last day for the Air France Expo, don’t miss it! It’s just off The Highline at 548 W. 22 Street. You might just want to upgrade your weekend even more by hitting the park and a few trendy art galleries. It’s Chelsea, after all!

In case you don’t make it this time, you can always catch it in Paris, where the Expo will be moving in September.

Bon voyage et un grand merci!

It was. I was pleasantly surprised with the app, very slick and interactive, although had a few strange features that didn’t seem to work and no one knew how to use them either 🙂

Air France has some very cool things they are rolling out. I am interested to see them first hand.
